Drive By Scene across the street

This scene took place near the start of the movie in front of Eva when she was a little girl. It involved a man across the street getting shot at and dying. I think this would have been traumatizing for a girl that young happening in front of her. a couple of weeks later her dad was taken to jail by the police. She is shown by her father that whites do what they want because they can. this affects her thinking and is shown the right way to think about things thanks to Ms Gruwell.

When I seen this scene I felt bad for Eva because she just seen a friend get killed and later her dad go to jail.
